Tongue Twister Diction Test by Vocal Training Warrior
Hello Vocalists! This is Jonathan Morgan Jenkins. 32 year veteran Vocal Coach.
The initial work to begin producing clear diction can start with something like speaking a Tonque Twister with emphasis on speech clarity.
Things to remember:
1) There is no rush, take your time and enunciate every word clearly.
2) Make sure ending consonants like “T”, “B”, “P’, “K” and “CH”, to mention a few, are clearly heard.
3) Don’t be a “Lockjaw” vocalist – Drop your jaw as much as possible.
“The Three Three-Toed Tree Toads” is a great Tongue Twister for todays Diction Lesson.
“The third time the three three-toed tree toads tried tying their toes together, the third three-toed tree toad tied the two three-toed tree toads toes to the third toads toes. Then the two tied three-toed tree toads told the third three-toed tree toad that tying their toes together thrilled them to their toe tips.”
